New investigators and a car (for a day or two!) :) 8/25/14

Hey everyone!

It's been a bit hot outside but we haven't noticed for the last few days because we got a car!...for 4 days...

The Sister's car will be undergoing maintenance today, so our vehicle coordinator dropped off the car 4 days early. He said that he didn't have a problem with us using it till today(Monday) so we gladly did. But we gave the keys to the sisters about 2 hours ago, so we're back to being a bike area(which is still cool, don't let anyone deceive you).

This week has been filled with service. We've helped some members mow their lawns and helped Beau and Monica move to their new home (it's still in our area though, so they aren't running away from us).

On Monday we had Zone P-Day, which was really fun! We were given a training from the Sister Training Leaders and the Zone Leaders on some different points of missionary work. We have a lot of good missionaries in our Zone.

We set a date for Beau to be baptized on 8 Oct, which means that he and Monica will have to be married late September. It's pretty exciting and our Bishop seems fine with the plan as well. This is a huge step for them but it's incredible to see how far they have come!
Last week we received a referral for one of our new investigators! Her name is Carolyn Massey, and she's hardcore baptist! When we first walked in it looked like her bible had been colored in it but the whole thing has been highlighted and marked. She has been looking for a church in Lawton that teaches "the true word of the Lord!" We gladly informed her that we were that church. She had committed to come to church with us this Sunday but she didn't show. We're going to have to follow up with her.

Last Sunday we had our Stake Priesthood meeting. It's always a good experience to be in a large priesthood body. There is a special spirit that attends and you can feel the power of the priesthood by just being in the room.

I am learning a lot out here in Lawton! We've had a busy transfer so far. Next week we will know who's getting transferred or not, so I'll keep y'all updated!

Stay on the true path,

Elder Holbrook
